Leukemia things to delay?

One of my friends dad was diagnosed with leukemia about a year or so ago he has been at UAB in Birmingham and out to Texas for Chemotherapy and other types of treatment. He has been battling this for a while now and the doctors are telling him now that there is nothing more they can do....SO here is my question I'm not looking for a cure on the internet because I think that would be silly. I'm just wandering if there are some things he could do that would help him to get better and over the treatment and maybe slow down the rapid growth so that he could have some good weeks or months before he got a lot worse. You know so he could enjoy his time here a little more. For example I have heard Steam Baths help to slow down cancer cells. I'm just wandering if anyone knows anyone that might know something about some tips to help slow it down.
